Anís Las Cadenas from Bodegas Navarras presents this anise with a very fine palate.
Cultivation: Anís Las Cadenas has been made with the same recipe since 1872.
Awarded since its inception in the most prestigious tastings worldwide, it masterfully combines different plants such as aniseed.
We achieved a well-rounded and balanced flavor with the perfect amount of sugar and alcohol.
Its distinctive bottle is a model patented in 1920 by our great-grandfather.
Preparation: We begin the preparation by mixing superfine sugar with water.
Next, we add the alcohol in which we have previously diluted the essential oils of more than x different plants.
The exact proportions of our recipe are known by only one person in each generation.
We call it “The Secret Recipe”.
After filtering and bottling our Anís Las Cadenas, we let it rest for a few months in the bottle.
Storage: Both before and after opening, it is important to follow these two instructions: - Avoid direct light on the bottle - Avoid high temperatures.
To serve: Traditionally, anise has been served and consumed only in this way.
To fully appreciate it, it should be served at room temperature, provided that it does not exceed 20-25 ºC.
It is served in a wide-based aniseed glass.
Ice, colloquially known as "Palomita", is another traditional way of serving it.
The effect of ice on anise produces a crystallization of the essential oils, changing the color from pristine transparent to a bluish-cream color.
Logically, ice lowers the alcohol content of the drink.
In Great Britain, people often drink it in cocktails with ice and Coca-Cola; it is called "Sweet Licorice" because of its flavor similar to black licorice.
Other common ways to use it are with lemon or pineapple.
