That day he departed from Mallorca, his native island, towards the Dominican Republic, in what would be the beginning of the search for new challenges.

Once in Santo Domingo, he began the great adventure of creating his own liquor company.

Barcelo & Co was founded in 1930.

Like all beginnings, these were tough.

Julián used to travel around the country in his old Ford van promoting his quality rums, but over time, his efforts were rewarded when Barceló & Co became a powerhouse in the national industry.

Upon his death, his nephew Miguel Barceló steered the company forward, continuing its growth and transforming it into a fundamental pillar of the Dominican economy.
