Founded in 2020 by Mikko Alkio, a Finn passionate about wine and the Catalan region, Clos Alkio has acquired 25 hectares of vineyards in the small village of Gratallops, in the heart of Priorat, one of the most prestigious areas in Spain for viticulture.
The winery aims to produce high-quality wines, maintaining the Priorat tradition and using mainly old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, as well as other international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Tempranillo.
Clos Alkio is also distinguished by the production of complex white wines, with special attention to its unique single-varietal wines, which allow wine lovers to enjoy the natural and authentic flavors of Priorat grapes.
In addition, the winery has invested in state-of-the-art machinery and the best production tools to ensure that every bottle is a testament to the highest quality.
Since August 2022, Clos Alkio's production capacity has increased to 25,000 kg of grapes per year.
