Bodegas y Viñedos Labastida presents the Labastida Carbonic Maceration Red Wine from the Rioja Designation of Origin (Spain), made from 100% Tempranillo grape varieties.
Carbonic maceration is the ancestral method of making wines in our area until the appearance of Manuel Quintano.
This wine is a tribute to those growers who worked this way for centuries.
LA UVA Made from a selection of plots with an average age of 20 years and clay-limestone soil located at an altitude of 500 meters.
THE HARVEST The 2018 campaign was the latest in many years.
Rain and snow were abundant in a cold winter that caused a delay from bud break that the vine did not recover throughout the cycle.
The result: a fresh vintage with medium alcohol content and balanced acidity.
Careful manual harvesting in crates to ensure the perfect condition of the fruit upon arrival at the winery.
Macerated in a closed tank and fermented with whole clusters for 12 days.
Drained and gently pressed using only the heart or core for the production of this wine.
