Crianza Este Vino Tinto Ondarre 7 Parcelas is aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 to 16 months with periodic racking.
Production This red wine is made with the Tempranillo and Mazuelo grape varieties from the diverse soils of Viana.
These small vineyards are located at an altitude of between 400 and 700 meters.
The soils of these vineyards are calcareous and shallow, where gypsum and limestone outcrop, and are well-drained and deep.
At harvest time, the aim is to obtain healthy fruit with just the right ripeness in order to produce wines with aging potential.
The must undergoes fermentation between 18 and 24 degrees in order to preserve the aromas of Tempranillo and Mazuelo.
Its maceration times last around two weeks with daily pump-overs to extract the quality components and aromas.
Bodega Ondarre seeks to produce wines that express the terroir, to produce wines with a clear brand from the municipality of Viana.
This typicality or personality is defined by the diversity of soils and the distribution of small and old vineyards located on the slopes that rise towards the Sierra.
Viana is an area with an immense winemaking tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
According to records, there is cartographic material that shows that many of Bodega Ondarre's vineyards of the Mazuelo and Tempranillo varieties have been planted for more than 70 years, which gives the wines great uniqueness and personality.
These vineyards have low yields where the grapes are carefully cared for and selected, because only in this way can wines be obtained that reflect and express the terroir through the climate, the soil and the work of man.
