The wine has been made with destemmed and crushed grapes, with short periods of maceration of the skins and a controlled fermentation at low temperature, thus managing to preserve as much as possible the aromas and flavors of the fruit.
Bodegas Riojanas was founded in 1890 by the Artacho and Carreras families, and is one of the 13 wineries designated as Centenary Wineries of La Rioja.
It is a family winery that is currently managed by the fifth generation.
