TANQUERAY LONDON DRY GIN Tanqueray gin began to be distilled in London in 1830 in the Bloomsbury district by Charles Tanqueray.
When Charles died in 1868, his son Charles Waugh Tanqueray inherited the distillery and kept it running until, during the bombings of World War II, almost all of its facilities were destroyed, leaving only one building standing.
These facilities, now known as Old Tom, were moved to Cameron Bridge (Scotland) where Tanqueray London Dry Gin is currently produced.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin, although produced in Scotland, is a London dry gin, due to the distillation process.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin is produced by double distillation of pure grain alcohol with herbs added in the second distillation; its botanicals are secret but juniper, coriander and angelica root stand out.
Alcohol content of Tanqueray London Dry Gin: 43.1% alc./vol.
Although versions with strengths of 47.3% and 40% alc./vol. are also distilled, depending on the countries to which it is destined.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin is the most awarded gin of all time and stands out for its clear and pure color.
