Lagarona White Wine on Lees

Lagarona Crianza Sobre Lías White Wine is a unique expression of the Toro Designation of Origin, created with the aim of producing an exceptional white wine, combining tradition and careful aging on lees in barrels.

This wine is the result of a meticulous selection of Albillo Real, Malvasía Castellana and Verdejo grapes, from three unique vineyards: Los Valles, Las Brozas and Bocarrage, with vines planted in 1945, 1964 and 1965, respectively.

In addition, it incorporates a small percentage of Godello from the Paredinas vineyard (1927), adding even more complexity to its profile.

After a rigorous manual harvest in 20 kg boxes, the bunches are subjected to careful crushing and pressing.

The must is left to settle naturally for three days, ensuring a clean and controlled fermentation at 18ºC in stainless steel tanks.

Once fermentation is complete, the wine is racked and placed in French oak and cherry barrels, where it ages for at least 6 months on its fine lees.

During this time, a weekly batonnage is performed, a process that adds texture, unctuousness and greater aromatic complexity.

After aging in barrels, the wine is homogenized in tanks, then undergoes a light clarification and filtration before being bottled, where it remains for six more months aging in the bottle, achieving its maximum balance and refinement.

The combination of old vineyards, unique soils and an environment surrounded by native forest species results in a white wine with great complexity and character.

Its aging in oak and cherry barrels provides depth and elegance, while its freshness makes it a versatile choice for seafood, oily fish, creamy rice dishes and aged cheeses.
