The El Rapolao area is exceptional due to its different orientations, always facing northwest and north, and its soils composed of clay with pebbles, which in the highest part have a special red clay.

These unique conditions have a decisive influence on the quality and character of the Mencía grapes that grow in this place.

The Mencía vines in El Rapolao are impressively old, exceeding 90 years, which adds complexity and depth to the grapes.

The altitude of the vineyards, located 518 meters above sea level, contributes to the freshness and elegance of the wines produced in this area.

The production of El Rapolao is a process that combines tradition and modernity.

The grapes are macerated with stems, meaning that the whole bunches are kept, and fermented in used French oak barrels.

Part of the grapes are destemmed without crushing and added to the barrels, where fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts.

The maceration of the grapes in El Rapolao lasts for 35-40 days, a completely manual process that allows all the nuances and flavors to be extracted.

After fermentation and maceration, the wine undergoes aging for 12 months in used 500-liter French oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure.

The result is a red wine of exceptional quality, dry, with intense color and abundant fruit, characterized by the freshness and modernity that we seek in the production of wines from the region.
