Ca Rioja (Spain), made from 100% Garnacha grape varieties from old vines in Plot No. 38 of the Casa de La Rad block.
Sourced exclusively from Plot 38, a vineyard located at an altitude of 640 meters and with an average age of 50 years, this red wine expresses the nobility of Rioja Garnacha like few others.
The soil, rich in iron, limestone, clay and rocky components, gives minerality and depth to the wine, providing unique nuances that can only be achieved in terroirs of exceptional quality.
The harvest is done manually in the first week of October, carefully selecting each bunch.
The grapes are transported in small capacity trailers to prevent spoilage.
Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in open 500-liter French oak barrels, with frequent racking and gentle maceration, to preserve the freshness and varietal purity.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place at 24ºC for 18 days with selected yeasts, and malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barrels for 50% of the wine, while the rest remains in tanks, favoring a balanced evolution.
Subsequently, the wine ages for 12 to 14 months in semi-new French oak barrels (100%), with 50% new oak, followed by bottle aging of at least 12 months before being released to the market.
The result is an elegant, intense and structured wine, with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, floral hints and a mineral background that makes it unmistakable.
Furthermore, this wine is certified as vegan, respecting both the environment and the preferences of the most demanding consumers.
