It is a gin produced in Germany, in the heart of the Black Forest.
Annual production is 2,500 bottles, making them quite difficult to acquire.
Monkey 47 Gin is a Premium gin, with an alcoholic strength of 47.0% alc./vol. This gin is obtained with double distillation of grain, plus another distillation in which forty-seven botanicals are used, hence its name, highlighting the fresh cranberry.
Then it is aged in clay pots, which gives it a special and different touch.
The final product is balanced and complex, dry, with an intense juniper and citrus flavor and a long residual bitterness.
It comes in a classic, rectangular, low, brown 50cl bottle.
