This mezcal has a tearing effect achieved with the utmost skill and passion of Mezcal Derrumbes.
The region where the Funkiana and Univittata varieties are found is one of the least explored mezcal-producing regions.
However, this ensures the originality of Derrumbes Tamaulipas.
It is a fairly difficult area to harvest agave due to safety and instability reasons.
The fermentation process is carried out by the master mezcalero Cuauhtémoc Jaquez, who delivers the Funkiana, Univittata, and American agave, where he uses a conical stone oven underground to roast the agave.
Maestro Jaquez also helps ferment mezcal using stainless steel and natural vats.
