Ca La Rioja (Spain), created from the grape varieties 80% Tempranillo and 20% Viura.
These grapes were obtained from high-altitude plots in northwest-facing vineyards composed of clay soil with limestone and considerable pebbles. Vinification: Half fermented in second-use French oak barrels while the other half fermented in a stainless steel tank with native yeasts.
Aging: Light aging in barrels and concrete tanks.
The Montalvillo Estate occupies an extensive hillside of the Yerga mountain range, in the easternmost part of La Rioja.
This estate is framed by the wide Ebro valley and the mountain range.
It has 240 hectares of vineyards, 15 of which are organically grown.
