Rueda, made from 100% Verdejo grape varieties.

With beauty, refinement and typicity, this wine represents the most outstanding qualities of the Verdejo grape, famous for its fragrance, fresh acidity and aging potential.

The grapes come from vines over 40 years old, in goblet style, from the highest terraces in the La Seca area and from ungrafted vines in the Segovia area.

50% of the vineyards are organically farmed.

This grape, with its great adaptability and good acidity, allows for optimal fermentation and aging on lees in French oak barrels.

Production: The manual harvest is carried out in 15 kg capacity boxes for the subsequent pressing of the whole grapes, without crushing, after passing through a double selection table of bunches and whole grape berries.

This way, the oxidation of the must is limited as much as possible, and all the aromas, color, and freshness characteristic of this variety are preserved.

After a light clarification of the must, fermentation takes place in 600-liter French oak barrels, followed by aging on lees for approximately 6 months.

Weekly lees removal for the first 3 months and then depending on the evolution of the rearing.

Optimal serving temperature: Between 9 and 12ºC.

The history of Bodegas Marqués de Riscal is the story of an innovative, pioneering company and a benchmark in a wine sector in continuous transformation.

The winery was founded in 1858 by Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga.

In 1862 their first wines were bottled, thus becoming the oldest bottled wines in Rioja.

A few years after its founding, the winery quickly began to win numerous awards, but one of the most important came in 1895, when Marqués de Riscal became the first non-French wine to receive the Diploma of Honor from the Bordeaux Exhibition.

In 1972 Marqués de Riscal began the production of the first white wines from Rueda and, in recent years, the winery has dared to incorporate two new designations into the project, V.
