Montevannos Majuelos Selection Red Wine

Bodegas El Hacedor presents the Montevannos Majuelos Selección Red Wine from the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin (Spain).

The wine is made with a combination of Tempranillo (95%) and Merlot (5%), two varieties that complement each other perfectly.

The Tempranillo grapes come from vineyards located in Hontangas, San Juan del Monte and Quintana del Pidio, while the Merlot grapes come from the Valdepalacios vineyard.

All the vineyards are located between 825 and 850 meters above sea level, planted on soils of pebbles and calcareous composition.

Most of the vineyards are over 40 years old, except for the Merlot, which is 20 years old, guaranteeing excellent concentration and varietal typicity.

The aging process takes place over 12 months in oak barrels, combining 75% French and 25% American oak, including new, second, and third use barrels.

This prolonged aging process gives the wine aromatic complexity, structure and excellent aging potential in the bottle, without detracting from the fruit's prominence.

The campaign took place under favorable weather conditions: normal temperatures for the area, no rain since September and marked temperature contrasts between day and night.

These circumstances allowed for a slow and homogeneous ripening, with grapes that, although they did not reach a large size, presented an exceptional quality and an optimal health condition.

In the glass, Montevannos Majuelos Selección Red Wine offers a deep cherry red color, intense aromas of ripe black fruits, spicy notes, mineral touches and a subtle roasted background.

On the palate it is ample, round, with polished tannins and a long, elegant finish.
