Valtravieso Wineries and Vineyards presents Valdelobas de Valtravieso Red Wine, an exceptional single-varietal Tinto Fino, which comes from the most calcareous areas of the "La Cotarra Alta" and "Valdelobas" plots of our "La Revilla" estate, whose vineyards have an average age of 15 years and low yields.

Valdelobas de Valtravieso Red Wine is an expressive and characterful red wine, combining power and elegance in every sip.

Its production is limited, which gives it a special status, and it has great aging potential, meaning it will improve with time in the bottle.

This wine has been widely recognized for its quality, obtaining 92 points in the Peñín Guide 2022 for the 2018 vintage, 96 points by Tim Atkin in the same vintage, and a Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020 for the 2016 vintage.

Furthermore, it has received 93 points from PARKER for the 2018 vintage.

The production of Valdelobas de Valtravieso Red Wine is meticulous.

A careful selection is made of the best grapes from the most calcareous plots, which are then subjected to a very short pre-fermentation maceration.

During fermentation, the grapes are gently infused to impart their compounds to the must, with one or two pump-overs daily and a delestage at the precise moment.

Post-fermentation maceration is longer and is determined by tasting.

The wine spends 16 months in barrels, 12 of which are in large volume, fine-grained French oak barrels, with a subsequent 4-month aging in foudre, thus avoiding an excess of wood influence.
